"The Sacred Circle Tarot" by Anna Franklin
and illustrated by Paul Mason; The Sacred Circle Tarot is a remarkable deck that has inspired me ever since I first set eyes on it. The vibrant computer artwork really gives life to the deck. This is a pagan deck at heart, but many of the meanings resemble the traditional Rider-Waite ones. The Sacred Circle is a powerful deck that triggers one's spirit to come down from on high and whisper in the reader's ears. The Cards asked me to let them speak. So, I began drawing keys. The first one that came up is the 6 Cups. The keyword nostalgia is written across the top of the key. The Cards tell me to remember all the readings I've done with them and to express how wonderful they have been. This deck is very intuitive. One can easily read them by looking at the pictures on the cards and by listening to their voice. The next key that came up was Key 12: Sacrifice. This is called the Hanged Man in traditional decks, but Ms. Franklin chose to get right to the point and make the keyword the name of the card. This key says to me, "Although it may take a personal sacrifice to learn and work with the Tarot, there are many rewards waiting in the background to be reaped." Key 12 has always meant self-sacrifice for a greater cause to me. This ideally reflects the way I feel about the Tarot too. If you're looking for a deck that is vibrant, colorful, expressive, simple yet elegant, and extremely intuitive (calling all psychics out there!) then you should look into the Sacred Circle Tarot. This book and deck is well worth the sacrifice you will make in getting and learning to work with it. Blessings, |
